mine didnt sit flush at all. no idea why. it was actually to high up to fit the consol so i had to take off the cover with the numbers and what not and got a boot. its a little small but i love the leather that its made out of so its alright. i glued the trim piece on to make it look better. im happy with it.
cutting the piece isnt hard. it seems really confusing up until you have it in your hand, looking at the moving pieces. just take your time and make sure you got the right one before cutting it. i used a pair of wire cutters and was able to get at it from the top and cut it in half and then snapped the rest off with another cut.
I like the look of the Type-S knob, and the ones that will fit it, so that's why I'm shooting for that one. But really, whichever is come across first.
As for difficulties, it's probably just because I don't have it in front of me. Once I do, I'm sure it'll be easier.
I have no clue. I was going through the "DIY"(if you could call it that) on v6p and someone asked about making the tiptronic work. Someone posted that it was possible but not easy.
