a couple months ago i was looking into a manual swap but decided to forget about it because of the difficulty in finding a transmission. But recently i heard of a shop in miami, florida called jdmkings and they have all sorts of honda engines and transmissions.

im gonna drive up there this weekend but had a few questions first. First, whats the odds of them having our particular transmission? and what other transmissions are compatible?

Second, what do you think should be a fair price for a used 30k-40k mile manual transmission. Also how much is a ballpark figure for labor, as they would be installing, they do all sorts of swaps so i trust their work.

thanks for the help guys

If you want to know what transmissions they stock, call and ask.

If you want to know how much they charge per labor hour, call and ask.

All compatible transmissions have been discussed. A lot. If you're i4, search here. If you're V6, search here and V6P.

Price for a manual transmission depends on the configuration. I bought my 2006 7GA 6MT with 38,500 miles on it for $750. But it came with the slave cylinder and a couple other things.

Any 90+ F/H series other than the S2000 will fit. Which one you want depends on what gearing you want. There are guides out there with the different model codes you'll find on the actual trans. I'd print it out or bookmark it on your phone so you know what you're looking at. You can plug the gears in to Zealautowerks.com to get an idea how the car will behave.

Trans itself should run $250-300 for one in decent shape, maybe $350 if they can carfax the VIN and prove it's got really low miles. A newer H-series trans or one with an OE LSD is gonna cost more if they have them.

Don't know about labor. Can't remember the last time I paid anyone to work on my car.
