Rear brake lights not working

hmm ill have to check that. Im assuming you recommend testing power to each of the wires going into the bulb/socket for the rear brake lights?

I had to replace mine for the corolla I had and I don"t think theres a wire shortage if so your light would turn on at all; sorry took pic upside down but its the white connector to the green and brown connect hope that made sense

def check that switch on the pedal it could have a short or just be stuck. GL sorting it out. drive @ night lol :hide:

Hey, did you mean the brown plug thats on the right side of the picture? or the white one on the bottom right side of the picture?

It might be the brake sensor behind the pedal

If it was the brake switch non of the brake light would work, also, the shift lock solenoid wouldn't work either and you'd be stuck in park.

My guess is corroded grounds in the trunk. Remove the liner like you would to change the bulbs and it should be somewhere nearby.

my thoughts exactly, and what should be somewhere nearby? (grounds?) if so what would they look like?

The fuse isn't blown? If not, it's gotta be a bad ground or bulb socket.

That would be the last thing you replace after you verify 12V power to the socket and continuity on the ground side of the socket.

Someone on here just had to replace a turn signal socket, even though it looked okay. I think it was russian_sohc or somebody...
