so basically you save money but u get less performance...right?..Im not criticizing your swap just trying to decide what's better for a person with a tight budget but needs more power...

No. I didn't save money between this and an H22 swap. I spent money on the SAME power, less torque, and an LSD, when I chose an F20B over an H22.

Personally, I find it more fun to drive a higher revving motor, rather than a higher torque motor.

Very nice numbers man it's nice to see more people going with the F20B it's a fun motor, I would get a race header and more aggressive cams installed maybe stage 2’s, upgraded retainers and springs, ARP head studs etc and get it tuned and you'll make amazing gains NA.

What are you tuning the F20B with? I am very interested in this swap because it's the cheapest DOHC VTEC engine available and I already have an H23 transmission to rev it out.

Did you stay OBDII? I would really like to be able to stay OBDII for emissions purposes. Can the F23 ecu be made to run the F20B with the help of a piggyback suhc as Greddy e-manage?

Thanks in advance for more info on your set-up.

I am using a chipped P06 turned P28. Yes, you can use the stock F23 ECU with the Greddy E-manage. I wouldn't...I hate piggy backs.

A better option if you must stay OBD2 is to use the OEM F20B ECU that come with the swap when you buy it. I believe it is plug and play.

PS - I melted a sprak plug last week thnx to plugs that were too hot. Changed the motor out for another F20B and got same peak numbers, but gained almost everywhere else. I'll post the new dyno sheet when I get a chance.

Did the plug melt the piston?

Indeed it did. What was the spark plug electrode is now mostly on the piston face, along with a bit on the combustion chamber surface. The edge of the piston are rounded off from melting a bit.
