I don't know why everyone hates Mustangs.
The high performance ones I really like.
Where else can you can go and get a Supercharged V8 for about 20-25K that runs 12's stock.

it's cause there's too many wanna-be's out there that buy v6 auto's and think they have a sports/muscle car.

Yeah, i don't get it either. Plus, the older 5.0's are some of the cheapest cars to get you in to the 12's, 11's. After that, it gets expensive like any car. I personally wouldn't want to own one but that doesn't stop it from being a great car.

here are my reasons for hating mustangs (newer ones)

1. not an import
2. girl car
3. too common to see grandmas driving in... and before you say the same thing about an accord... the mustang is a SPORTS CAR!
4. v6 edition wtf?

and as far as the 20-25k, i can think of a million better ways to spend that. i don't know about you but i'd rather have a car with tons of modifications over stock anyday!

To respond to your comment

1) That's a personal preference (But not a TRUE car enthusiasts view)

2) Um, and what would you call a Civic?

3) I see more older people driving an Accord coupe than a Mustang. (But that's just up here in the NorthEast) And according to the standards of insurance companies, any 2 door car is classified as a sports car.

4) SULEV...WTF ha ha

I don't have anything against people who don't like Mustangs because that's their opinion. But no one can give me a reasonable explination as to why they don't like stangs. Especially people who has never owned one.
I mean, Mustangs have been around for years and has been a popular seller for just as long. So Ford must be doing something right.
I'm not bashing imports because I truly love my Accord. But since I've owned a Grand National, A Taurus SHO, and a Mustang LX V8 I can speak from both sides.
Now, of course there are some jerks out there who buys a V6 stang and thinks he can outrun everything on the road, but in all fairness, that would be the same for a 16 year old kid who buys a Civic and watches the movie F&F

I'm not even going to touch this really but it does show me that you arn't a true car enthusist. Not because you don't like mustangs, just your rational for it.

Like BN, i have been around alot of these cars, not owned one though, but learned to respect it. I guess i find it a bit ironic that people driving family cars with emissions priorities hating on cars that are purpose built for enthusists.

1) all of my statements are personal preferences/opinions...
after all... that is what you asked for? is it not?
"i dont know why everyone hates mustangs"... surely you can expect to get
opinionated answers here.

2)civics and mustangs are uncomparable... they aren't even in the same class.
comparing apples and oranges here.

3)which is more shocking?... grandma in a cobra or grandma in an accord coupe?

4)apples and oranges again

where did i say accords were superior to mustangs? i've only stated my reasons
for not liking them.

i really do not see how both of you determined that i'm not a true car enthusiast because
of the things i said. i appreciate all cars in their own way, but because i don't like
mustangs i'm not a true enthusiast? as far as my rational for not liking them.. i couldn't have said "they're slow". seems like i'm getting words thrown in my mouth around here
because based on the responses you would think i said...

"f*ck mustangs they are slow pieces of crap and my accord
will smoke one all day".

i never even mentioned the mustang's performance aside from the v6 statement, which is my personal opinion that if you are getting a mustang... why not get the v8?

i think you guys are taking my opinions like i'm trying to prove facts?

Your first reason for hating a mustang is because it's not an import?!?!
C'mon...LOL

YOur Second reason for hating mustangs is because you think it's a girls car?
C'mon...LOL

These are biased opinions and not relative (car enthusiastic) arguements as to why you don't like a particular car.

If you had said:

I don't like Mustangs because they're V6 is underpowered when compared to other cars
OR
I don't like mustangs because they don't have independent rear suspension and most performance cars do have independent rear suspension.
OR
I don't like Mustangs because they still use an ancient pushrod system.

These are factual reasons as to why you shouldn't like a mustang
Not because it's not an import

ok, i understand where you're going with it.
i suppose i thought you were talking about ANY reasons.
honestly my problems with mustangs do not really lie in the performance so much as the visual appearance of them... and i'm not even talking about older ones... i mean 93+ i personally think are hideous. i like foxbodies though, and my friend has a 66 which i love.

Yeah, I had a 91 LX V8
I wanted a GT, but I found out it had the exact same motor, just weighed more because of the kit.

Now, I simply love the Supercharged Cobras and the Saleens
