So I've been searching/looking at this stuff for a while. i see how people say they see big improvements with this but ive heard it can be a bad idea to do with a car with over 100kmiles, heard it eats at rings and other stuff. my car has 170k and i was wondering if i should sea foam my car?any bad comments about this product? and if done how immediate do i need to oil change, minutes after, hours, a day?

My car has a lot of miles and I do seafoam once a year or so. Goes in right after the PCV valve, drive around the block a couple times, and then change the oil right after. Should get some good smoke out of the tail pipe when you first start driving (after adding the seafoam).

It wont eat your rings. your rings are pretty much the same material as the container.
For putting it in your oil. just let it idle for 10 min and drain it and change the oil. I wouldn't drive with it or push the engine.

my 6thgen was seafoamed @ aprox. 150k mi.
i had no problem till i sold it, which was another good 30k mi.
that 6thgen saw redline everyday more than so often.

to my knowledge, that engine still runs like a champ.

if you are afraid of built up gunks around broken seals (which you should have researched a bit more, because seafoam does not eat up seals when properly used) or something, you can pour less than everyone else.

you dont need to change your oil unless you add it to the crankcase. If you run it through the break booster or gas tank, it's not going to mix with your oil.

Second, if you really want to "flush" your engine, seafoam is not a real potent additive. It works, but it's nothing like amsoil engine flush or the others. Seafoam is A LOT safer to use though. I would not worry about seals. If you have used a real engine flush it has similar detergents as automatic transmission fluid and smells very toxic.

I like to use seafoam to clean my injector and fuel system.

You probably won't notice much power gain from the butt dyno. But your car might run smoother and idle better. It depends, it took my car a few treatments to get it right. Unless your car is really struggling to run from carbon build up, you will not feel much gains...
