If you can do it yourself its cheap.

But think of it this way.

For the head to come off you have to disconnect: The exhaust, fuel rail, injector wiring, vaccume hoses, coolant lines, power steering pump and bracket along with all the belts, including the timing belt.

While you've pulled off the timing belt, you've might as well change it, along with the water pump since your there. It takes a few hours yes, but *most* garages charge book time rather than actual time, and when you add up all the "times" it comes out to being a coule of hundred of bucks to change the head gasket.
