Re: hyundai genesis sedan

^ red coupe looks nice ... doesn't the genesis share the same block as the evo x ?

Yes it does, I think it's the same block as de srt4 as well.

I find the sedan looks a little to conservative. But for 40k$, it's all worth it IMO.

The coupe, it looks like if it was infented by a G37 coupe who had sex with a tiburon. The car is nice though, the Hyundai-Kia group is groing strong, Honda Toyota and Nissan should be worried.

Are you kidding me!? Toyota and Honda should be worried? Look dude, korean cars have come up, Il give you that. But Honda and Toyota have a 30+ year history of making reliable and great vehicles. The re-sale of a hyundai or kia makes me wanna vomit...you lose %50 of the vehicles value within the first 5-6 years of ownership.

My wife has a 2003 Lexus (toyota) IS300 that's still bluebooking for about 11k. The resale value and market stands behind these cars, go figure.

Im not saying Hyundai is a bad car, But its no way close to the quality of a toyota or honda hands down.

Re: hyundai genesis sedan

^ Hondaluver, I agree 100% with you.
I'm not saying hyundai will have a better car then any honda or toyota anytime soon, but they are rising. Ask any baby boomer, when they were younger, where was all the cheap stuff made? Answer Japan. My father always hated Japanese cars and said they were crap, until the 1980's, when he finally sold is Firebird because he realised the Japanese surpassed the American cars(opinion). I wouldn't buy a hyundai now, but in 10-20 years they might rival hondas and toyotas. Don't you think?

Edit:Before everything cheap was made in China, it was made in Korea.

^I agree with you. The way Hyundai is going, they will be a threat in due time. Yeah Honda, Nissan, and Toyota have a long time reputation built, which counts for a lot...but that is no guarantee when you have a rising star offering a great product with great incentives to buy. At one time GM, Ford, and Chrysler were monsters in this country, and marques like Honda, Toyota, and Nissan were the underdog...but in due time they did better business and attracted more buyers. Then GM, Ford, etc started having problems.

Currently neither Honda, Toyota, or Nissan can match what Hyundai is doing with their company because the company's infrastructure does not allow them to sell cars the way Hyundai does. This is the advantage Hyundai has, at least for now.

The other factor that may tip the scale is the economy, people are and have been ready for change and fresh ideas, which has aided greatly in Hyundai's rise. And Hyundai is basking in that light more and more. Again, as it stands now - it could change.

Personally I am not impressed with any of Toyota, Honda, or Nissan's mainstream lineup in the design department, and would take a Genesis easily over a Maxima/Altima, Avalon/Camry, or current Accord. The design, value, and service is all there imo when it comes to Hyundai, and in time should worry the others. Or not, they may adapt and change the way they do business. But it doesn't look that way.

Re: hyundai genesis sedan

Going a bit off topic, I think Nissan has a very interesting lineup of vehicule. But I agree with you on Honda though. Toyota, on the other hand, will likely be going upstream in terms of styling and sportiness, thanks to their new president, mr. Toyoda, who is a said fan of sports car. The upcomming Toyota 86a, with his Boxer engine, is an example.

And to OP, sick pictures!

Re: hyundai genesis sedan

Im only going to say a few things

Every Hyundai I've seen or rode in with over 100,000 felt like it was going to break into pieces.

Every Hyundai I've seen used the classifieds, never sold anything close to what it was new.

You can make a car look real pretty with nice designs, but if your still using the same cheap parts, it wont make the car any better.

Honda and toyota spend way more money on development than any other car manufacture in the world....they also have the best system in building the vehicles and use the best quality parts manufactures.

You guys are making a big deal over nothing, Hyundai comes out with 2 decent cars and all of a sudden they are going to disrupt toyotas and hondas whole market sales.
