I was wondering if Snowboards can fit sideways in the trunk of the Accord Sedans. I'm planning on going snowboarding in my Accord and I don't want to buy a snowboard rack since I'm already purchasing chains (Yes, chains are required for California mountains when it snows. I checked.) Also, even with chains, does anyone know how terrible the handling is on the Accord and whether it would be too dangerous? I'm running on Kumho KH16 so it can handle a bit of snow. I'm expecting to drive in about 4-6 inches of snow if they don't plow the road.

Also, are there any 6GA members in Socal that would like to go? Maybe we could arrange an event in Socal to all go snowboarding/skiing together :D.

Measure it? Try it? I've gotten my snowboard to fit in a bunch of weird ways, but not enough room for 4 people in the car. My 157cm is a tight squeeze in the backseat.

4-6in. is doable on flat surfaces with no chains, going up and down a grade might be a bight more, er, exciting to say the least.

if its a small board, it should fit in the trunk. anything longer than 150 wont fit with out putting down the rear seat. Skiis u can get away with putting down the little center arm rest

as for traction, ur accord should be fine with the right tire. i dunno about those but for winter, i have a set of studded tires that i use that can get me any and everywhere with never slipping. i can plow thru mounds of snow if im ever snowed in with my tires. urs are a little more standard so obviously proceed with caution but u should be fine

Forgot about the pass through... you should be able to get 2 boards in there bottom-to-bottom if you're not riding wide boards.

Good luck with that pass thru, they seem dinky on the sedans. I usually fold my rear seat down and my board touches the back of my seat and the bindings almost touch the back of the rear seats and i know the sedan trunks aren't that deep. I also ride a long *** board cause i'm nearly a giant.....:ugh:

No shame in going boarding/ through the mountains in your accord, more power to ya. I took my accord over the mountains of vermont to get to sugarbush which is in the valley of 3(?) mountains and i survive, a near scare but i survived

probably not going to fit unless your eaither a midget or your board is wayyy too small. I have put my boards inbetween the seats and next to me to my left between the drivers seat and the drivers door. one binding in front of the seat and one behind.

try that it works good if you have a car load.

p.s. wrecked my first car with a load of boards and people thought I was going to be in trouble when the cops saw that I had 4 passengers and 5 snowboards in my 89 2dr mazda 323 hatchback. (we put the nose and tail of 2 boards stacked through the car windows like we had wings) lol
