Right, but AWD cars are also inherently understeer prone.
AWD cars are inherently more rwd than fwd.
Even for road racing, FWD cars can be staggered. I will be running 255 in front and 225s in the rear, possibly wider in front on my EF Civic race car.
Reason being is that on a FWD car you are asking your front wheels to stop, steer, and accelerate the car, not to mention that the usual front biased weight distribution on a FWD car doesn't help lower lap times...
If you want to stager your tires, wide up front. We don't drive V-dubs here...![]()
