Steering wheel radio controls, was it an option in 2002?

you can find the adapters online to make them work with an aftermarket radios and you plug them into the oem setup

someone should manufacture one thats wireless and universal kind of like a universal remotes for tvs and make them small and curved enough to somewhat fit where ever you want it placed in the spaces of the steering wheel
