Me and my uncle had to replace the power steering rack not to long ago, and he says that in order to take the rack off, you have to loosen a bolt on the steering column somewhere. And when you do that, your steering wheel has to be put back up the right way or it will be crooked. Well, he says he couldnt find a certain line thats supposed to help you line up the steering wheel straight, so its crooked sideways. Hes worked for GM for idk how many years, a long time, so he has a basic knowledge of cars (still doesnt mean he knows what hes doing). But i want to know, how can i line this up correctly? Thanks

wheel is off 1 or 2 splines. make sure your wheels are strait with the steering wheel crooked. take off the air bag. take off the nut that holds wheel on. pull the off turn it to 12 o'clock push it back on. have the car re-aligned if the wheel is not perfectly strait.

^It's not hard, you just need to be careful when working around the SRS system. Disconnect the battery and let the car sit for a few minutes. Take your time removing/reinstalling the airbag...the SRS collar is a bit fragile. I swapped my steering wheel no problems though.

It does bug me, alot......I hate looking at the crooked wheel, but I didn't get around to doing it before the "Sad Day", and I still need to hook up my horn as well.
