stuck at 4000rpm

when i was going to work this morning my car got stuck at 4000rpm an would not go pass that, after i let go of the gas it changed to 2gear n something over in all the gears. if anybody knows something about this kind of problem please lmk thanks

your car is in limp mode, CEL on?

Check your oil level. If your car is low on oil, it'll do that to prevent any major damage from happening.

well i just got this car so kind of new on them, sorry for the question but what is CEL?

yoru check engine light, just wondering because though you didnt mention it, i didnt want to dismiss it. there's a hundred reasons why your car would be in limp, and they're right, oil is the easiest thing to check

Happened to me before too, i was like wtf!!! No VTEC? But then i stopped and checked the oil and it was extremely low. Suprised i didn't blow my engine, put some oil in and put her to the floor and she revved over like she should. Gotta love hondas
