i have this amp and im running it to the diamond d3 10' subs.

I kinda gave up after this... OP needs to check the Audio FAQ and figure out what kind of subs he has and how they are wired before anyone can help him

I didn't read through every comment made, but I do agree with the thought of overheating. And I also agree that you should take the amp off of the sub box.

Try looking into fan-cooled amps. That's all I've owned and never had an issue with them. They've all been Kenwood amps as well, which is me going out on a limb because my kenwood headunit overheated on me and I've never bought another kenwood since.

Our trunks are air tight almost, so..
1. Electric blower motor to cool things off.
2. Lower rear seat, open rear windows.
3. Relocate amp under driver or passenger seat, turn ac on full blast and set it so it blows on your feet.

haha wow i didnt think this many people would respond. i just kept the back seat down and i havent had any problems! thanks for the help!

You might want to check your subs too. They might need more power from the amp and thus making your amp work harder. Model of the subs would help, you might also look into mono channel amps with a built in fan.

You don't really see amps with fans anymore for some reason, a few old school PPI had them. It really depends on the design of the heatsink too, an efficient one would dissipate heat from that amp well.
