Under the influence of others, as well as just common sense, I've moved the info I had in the CCFL Ftw thread to here. After having one of my parking LEDs blow, I decided to go a different route and switched it out for blue LEDs. But the corner is where I went through a few types before going for what has got to be the best I've found. At first, I had the standard amber bulbs (hated them). Then I thought it'd look nice to have the stealth chrome amber bulbs

(once again, bad choice). They weren't bright and I began to worry that someone might hit me and say they couldn't see my turn signal. I figured maybe LEDs were the way to go. So I bought a pair of amber LEDs from ebay, but just weren't feeling those ones either.

What I did end up doing was going for 30 SMT LED Switchbacks and I gotta tell ya, I wasn't expecting the Switchbacks to be this bright lol.

They are awesome bulbs that are white when running lights, and amber when turning. When you have no lights on, they just blink amber when turning. But when either your parking lights or all your driving lights are on, they blink between white and amber. For one thing, they're bright as hell, and another thing is that I got a feeling the blinking back and forth of amber-white-amber-white-amber is probably a lot more eye catching than just amber, so someone would have to be blind not to see me turning.

Not all states are ok with white blinkers though nexTOme. Thus the reason I got the switchbacks. The blinker is always amber so any state I'm in will be ok with them. As far as the running lights, some states are different, but I got a feeling they'd prob impress the cops anyways lol.

Did you have to do anything special to install them or are they just a bulb replacement? If you dont get what i'm asking I was just wondering if you had to do any extra mod other than a simple remove and replace

they're jus plug n play

but zero: did they require load resistors so they wont blink all fast?
i already have them wired up but jus curious cuz i've only dealt w/ the regular leds...i never used smt leds b4

Yeah, load resistors are necessary, and phuong SMT leds are just brighter leds, so anytime you deal with SMTs, expect them to act just like regular leds.

Just make sure you secure the resistors to the chassis (those resistors reach some high temps and need the metal to dissipate it)

I just used white bulbs for my turn signals in the front/rear. Haven't been stopped by the police, so I guess they aren't that bad. Alot of newew Hyundai's have very bright turn signal bulbs that are barely amber, so I figure that would be my argument IF I ever got pulled over.

Zero, hope you can post a vid clip of them though.
