hm.. iono. converting to syn at that high milage might cause it to leak a lil. :lolhitting:

The reason synthetic tends to leak more is because the molecules are smaller than conventional oil, and tend to sneak past older oil seals.

Valvoline SynBlend is a good oil, I never had any problems with FoMoCo Motorcraft Synthetic or blends either, I paid $12/5qts for their full synthetic a few years ago and still can't figure out why it was so ridiculously cheap.

Because people are scared that high mileage engines can't use synthetic. I think my 194k miles is proof that you can. I also used full synth on my F22 at 233k with no leaks or burning.

Are you ****ing stupid? :eh: Don't state facts without some supporting evidence.

I would say if your car has under 100/k mi you should be safe if you switch to syn. Even if you switch to syn and your seals leak a little bit you can always switch back to a blend or conventional.

Like finch said, synthetic oil wont harm or deteriorate any seals or gaskets.

It's never too late to go synthetic, I am a ****ing nut about synthetic on any and all cars. Personally, I use Motul, Total, or Royal Purple but then again I'm running a high performance vehicle (shut up before anyone starts with the skittle comments...lolz). For my 6thGen, I used to run Mobil 1 and ran Motul when I did track time.

Royal Purple 5W-30 and a new Bosch filter every 3-5000mi.
I could probably get away with going 7000.
