Verdict time. . . .

Walked in to the courtroom after meeting with my attorney outside. Sat on the left as a defendant until my case was up.

They called my case, walked up, I stood next to my attorney and basically he just told the judge we reached an agreement with the defendant and I plead guilty to that.

Well played sir, well played.

In South Dakota, a person can do this on their own without an attorney. You go to the court date, plead not quilty, and they give you a date to meet with the DA. You meat with him and, in most cases, he'll knock it down to something similar to what you got. If you don't like what he offers, then you can take your chances in court.

I got nabbed doing 32 in a 20 (even though I was being passed by an SUV going faster than me). The DA knows that everyone speeds in that area and he knocked it down to 25 in a 20, no points added.
