My car doesn't... I know that in our company cars, when the light is on, the traction is active... It cuts the power to the engine/wheels back when its active. I had a guy explain it to me once, but I wasn't really paying attention (because I hate it.) IMO, there's nothing worse than being in a snow drift with the traction control on... Sometimes you need a little spin to help your forward momentum. Anyway, I know my car doesn't have traction control, and I didn't think Honda used it, but I must be wrong again (Seems to be happening a lot lately...)
