Another radiator question. I swear my radiator is failing too b/c when I open the hood, theres dry white residue everywhere near the radiator. Anyway, I just noticed today as I was driving, my temp needle going real high as I accelerate and than when I stop it would slowl go back down to normal conditions. As I speed up again, it would go up.

Does that mean that I'm ****ed? Or just low of radiator coolant? Gracias

^ could be many things, but check your coolant level first. If that doesn't work, try changing your thermostat, and if that doesnt do it, change the water pump.

If you rule out the thermostat, and the needle falls lower than it usually sits at, on a hot engine, then you have some other problem.. I wouldn't go tearing up your engine though before you rule everything out.

If needle falls lower than it usually sits on a hot engine, you are definitely not over heating, and I believe it's a sensor error. If sensor was intact, it wouldn't read lower than the temp a hot engine is in. You can't straight up cause a lower temp for the sensor to read accurately. Does that make sense?
