even though they offer all these great warranties, the public doesnt seem to be too fond of hyundai, their cars are known to only hold 1/4 of the value at which a consumer buys it just after three of four years of owning the vehicle. there was an article about this just this past weekend about hyundai.

I agree. They've come a long way, but they still have a lot to prove.

I have to say I'm impressed by how far Hyundai has come. The pictures are quite telling. It will be interesting to read reviews on this one.

Is it just me or do the new Accord tail lights look similar to BMW tail lights? I think there's always a bit of "borrowing" from time to time across car makers.

Well i must say that My 2004 Hyundai Elantra kicked some *** when i had it. I never had a problem with it, and in my opinion it wasn't terribly ugly. It was a great first car.

I give props to Hyundai and Kia for coming a long way since the begining, but they blatantly copy other popular designs such as the 7th Gen Accord sedans and the Sonata.

As far as criticizing Hyundai, try and understand the car industry first.

Hyundai jumped in the game very very young. And as Justin said - they've come a long way... what he didn't add was "quickly." The company is trying to keep up in a market with companies that've been in the game for at least twice as long as they have. Many other car companies can't keep up with the US as far as all the safety standards and integrity. Though successful, Kia is not at the level of Hyundai. Nonetheless, Hyundai - They are successfully marketing cars in the US and now have released the Genesis.

My speculation is the genesis is going to be a unique car in the tuning world... not only the coupe but also the sedan. Similar to how sedans are a "style" in japan whether its tuning or drifting (cefiro is one example). I'm waiting for a twin turbo v8 monster. lol

There are hundreds of car companies in China (some of which made an appearance at this years auto show) that aren't making it here but Hyundai manages...

Not to mention... yeah stealing car ideas... How about the Pontiac G6, Scion TC, 8th gen Honda Accord coupe, and a few others all having the same rear... Oh and my BIGGEST complaint is Jaguar hiring the same designer as Aston Martin....

i agree that Hyundai has come a long way, but i would still never buy one, just not the type of car im interested in. It does look good tho and the v8 that they offer has 375 hp, thats damn good for any car

i have to agree with you there, manufacturers do copy each others style to a point, but ur not suppose to be driving down the street and say "damn is that a jaguar? no its a Hyundai" that crap happens to me all the time and frankly it makes me kinda mad, cars arent suppose to be replicas to the point that at a quick glance u cant tell what car it is OR isnt.

nicely done andrew i couldn't have said it myself... hyundai basically goes with the flow of the industry... if something is successful, they will try to replicate it.. HOWEVER, due to their lower pricing, they are actually satisfying a niche in the automotive world.... along with their 100K warranty, hyundai is def making strides
