Re: THE Ultimate, end-all guide to doing an OBDII to OBDI conversion on a 6th gen acc

Hello!!!!

Saying to this me you that some models 99-00 use the normal voltage as the IAVC OBD1 and others it , takes a special votaje only for the IAVC OBD2B, not????

And if IAVC was OBD2B that I have option to be able to put another IAVC in the same housing of the intake mainfold???

Regards

Let's revive this thread please. I still don't understand wtf. I know Marc's way works for sure, but it is also costly. The way Jason did it sounds like it works, but I am not sure on reliability.

costly yes, but there is no better way then the right way.

i only listed the need for the obd1 intake manifold, and the new injectors, simply because it will guarantee you no issues with sensors, idle or anything else.

yes, there are other ways to do this conversion. yes, this way is expensive. but, at the end of the day, there is a cheap way, and an expensive way to do anything... its just a matter of which one is gonna cause you headaches, and which is just gonna...work.

Just to set the record straight, I did eventually buy a blacktraxx IACV adapter plate on ebay for $17 to fit a two-wire IACV on the manifold. I'd say the only 'rigged' portion of my conversion is piggybacking the stock ECU off the OBD1 harness to power my coolant temp gauge in the dash. No reliability was compromised in my conversion.

EDIT: This isn't directed at you Nikita, just putting that out there. To me, swapping the entire IM is a hassle not worth considering unless you're getting a good gain in performance by doing so.

swapping IM's is not worth the OBD-I swap. simplicity is king :badger:

AFAccord, you should do a write up on how u did ur conversion. So we could decide which way we want to do it. I like retros write up, and urs sound good too. Either way, they both get the job done.

you need a p28 ecu, conversion harness and a 2 wire iacv and plug

i swapped IM's so i think you have to as well

How does your car run after the conversion my car runs perfect now as is and I dont wanna change that. I know some people mentioned the obdII injectors wont work well with your now OBDI setup also anyone experience any trouble with the iacv using the blactrax plate

i was tuned afterwards, so my car runs as well as i want it to. i added more fuel and messed with the timing, so it rides rougher than stock, but it was by choice

i currently run the stock accord injectors. our injectors are the same type of injectors used in the p28 civics so no conversion is necessary. if you were to use an aftermarket or dsm injectors, than extra parts would need to be installed to make them work (resistor boxes)

as far as the iacv, afaccord was the only one i knew who ran one. i haven't talked to him in a while, but he never mentioned anything bad about the adapter
