Hey guys. As some of you may remember, I was pulled over by a motorcycle cop. Recap: Not knowing why I got pulled over, he asked if he can check under my hood I said OK because I honestly thought I didn't have anything illegal. HE found a breather filter, so then I got the modified emissions ticket. While he was righting up the ticket, he was making jokes with the other cop about how quick he ended the chase? As if I was trying to run away from him. Anyways, long story short. I decided to fight this by Trial By Declaration. What this is, it's basically where you can fight your case in a written form so you would not have to go to a real trial.
Turns out i was "acquitted"
I think this means that I am not guilty?
So does this mean that I don't I can stop paying for the $387.00 that I owe due to the ticket?
Any advice would be great.

Do you have documentation from your municipal court that says something to the effect "You have been acquitted of violation against code: (violation number)" ??

If you do, then you are innocent of that particular code violation and you do not have to pay fines or anything for it.

HOWEVER, if you have more than one violation against you, meaning that you were cited for a moving violation (why you were pulled over) and then the emissions ticket, then you still have responsibility to your other citation.

I'd advise you to call the number on the back of your citation and the clerk should be able to tell you if they have anything on file for you.

Hey thanks a lot guys!
I called and they said that I won that case. The clerk told me that the money ($387.00) was sent yesterday and I will receive it in 10 business days.
That was the only thing I was charged with.

I'm glad that everything is over with now. Less stress for me. I'm glad they ruled in my favor for whatever reason. It gives me a little more faith in the system.
I'm so cautious nowadays and I still get those dirty looks from all the cops who drive by me. I don't like them seeing me as a criminal because I drive a really low car. That's why I'm planning on going for more of a luxury look? haha. I hope I can pull it off. The only way I am considering on raising my car is when I have wheels that have really low offset. lol
Anyways, thanks for the support. TBD for the win!

glad you won your cases......TBD FTW.....I recently wrote 2 TBD for my mom and a friend and just waiting for results haha...........in the past I've won 1 ticket by TBD.........I believe the victories are from cops not showing up to contest our TBD because its a big hassle for them.....I bet they can pin us down if they actually care about it :p

I just recently switched from 8000K to 4300K HID bulbs to not get harassed by cops haha..........its really a pain sometimes :madrun:
