Hi,

I planned on having the following setup in my 02 Accord Sedan LX:

Front Speakers: JL AUDIO TR650-CSI 6.5" COMPONENT CAR SPEAKERS+TWEETERS
(http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...84960&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT#ht_2925wt_1139)

Rear Speakers: NEW JL AUDIO TR690-TXI 6x9 3 WAY CAR SPEAKERS TR-690
(http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...84723&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT#ht_2518wt_1139)

Both powered by a JL 300/4 amp. Which will in turn result in 75W x 4 channels.

Question:

(1) Will the speakers receive enough power from the amp to be worth the upgrade?

-&-

(2) Will the speakers fit without any problems in my car?

Thanks,

You will need to measure the mounting depth to see if those will fit (mainly referring to the fronts) and you may need to make an MDF ring so that it does not touch the glass.

That amp is fine for those speakers. But if I were you, I would forget about the rear speakers and put a small 10" sub to get some bump back there. But if giving up any room for a sub is out of the idea, then go for the rear speakers.

those 6.5s will need a ~1/2" spacer in front and MDF will absorb water like a sponge and warp. use a hard wood or ABS plastic or "marine/king starboard" from ebay.

definitely skip the rear speakers if you dont have passengers back there often (or if you dont care about them :lawl:).

Exactly what i was thinking, forget the rear speakers the front speakers will have plenty power with that amp so id just leave the stock rear speakers and power them off the head unit and instead get a 10 or 12'' sub.

As for the ~1/2" Spacer, does that mean an item like:
NR New Custom 6.5" speaker ring pair 1/2" thick MDF
(http://cgi.ebay.com/NR-New-Custom-6...ultDomain_0&hash=item5ae1d79d09#ht_500wt_1413)

it needs to look like this, because the screw holes/grommets on the door panel aren't equidistant to each other.
