I have the tick as well, but im pretty sure its just normal valve tick. I used to get it in my Z and the only way we got rid of it other then adjusting or replacing the valves was just using thicker oil. The reason the tick went away after the car was warmed up was because the oil had fully circulated through out the engine. The manual says to use 5w30 but i have 111k on my accord so i use 10w30 and i havent noticed anymore ticking but i will check again. My prelude also ticked really loud and it got faster with rpm but quieter when the car warmed up. I think its pretty much normal. Also switching from synthetic to regular oil also got rid of the tick in my Z.

Might be valves. You're only at 47k though some reason I don't think you'd need them adjusted that early.

I'm thinking of take the car to the Honda dealership to have them check the ticking noice coming from my engine bay. If is the valves that need to be adjusted, will this be a seriuos work or is just a matter of adjustability without raplacing any parts???

I want to know if is serious labor cuz I might be without car for that period.
Hook me up guys.

is it kinda like a whistling-tick?

cause i have that. started a couple days after i got my car back from the swap.

comes from the pass side of the engine bay somewhere

it's on nearly all the time when driving/coasting in gear/coasting not in gear,

BUT it will stop when i push the clutch in! and then it comes back when i let it out.

any ideas?

^^^ I don't know abt yours but I found a write up that says that valves for Accord 98-02 need to adjusted from 30k to 60k miles depending on how noice they are on the specific car. Well what I found is basicly a DIY. I'll posted right now BTW seens like a very easy job 1.5 hours for 1st timers. But I'll rather take to the Honda delership and have it done by 'em plus the warranty would cover that.
