+1 for the alternator (my .02)

Talked to a local honda tech over here, said it might be the tranny. But he said it would be more of a grinding sound instead of a ticking.

Alternator sounds as good as any other response (over bomb, of course, lol)... I wouldn't think tranny since he mentioned being stopped and hearing it though... :D

I'm going to find out what it is tomorrow after my seminar. I'm thinking that it's either the alternator or could possibly be some belts (which apparently weren't replaced; whole other story).

Hopefully by this weekend I'll get this **** straigten out. Then if all is good I'll be buying my new shoes in a week!!

peace,

Its around that amount, I think thats what my bro just paid to have it done on his D16. Its actually fairly easy if you wanna try it yourself, it just takes a long time cuz you have to do one cylinder at a time.

So I had someone check out the car. They told me and showed me that 2 belts were cracked. So I'm about to replace those this next week. As far as the ticking noise it now has become a whistling noise near the belt area (alternator area). So the guy tells me once I get the Honda belts to come back and he'll check to see if there's a noise still or if it was just the belts.

Peace,

Your exhaust "ticks" as it cools. Totally common thing. Is it a soft, quick tick that isn't at any regular interval?

I have this ticking sound coming from the engine bay...I've listen close and is louder when I start the car in the morning or when I get out of work after being several hours resting, I guess is the valves but I'm only 47K miles so I haven't replace my timing belt, I don't think is time yet??? What I can do??? My car has warranty for 5 years so should I take it to the dealer...
I don't know cuz everytime I take it there they take forever.

Might be valves. You're only at 47k though some reason I don't think you'd need them adjusted that early.
