Raccoon stuck in engine maybe . . .

i thought the fur was stock?

its heats up when the car is moving, dont notice if the fans are going of not, the fluid looks good too, i havent done any crazy driving or nothing that could have caused that. ill check the fans and see if that is the issue, other than that i was gonna take out the thermo and see if that was it.

took it to the shop where i work this afternoon, and had them take a look at it. Its not the pump because if it were, the car wouldn't be running considering its driven of the timing belt. Its also not the thermostat, that's still perfect. Its also not a leak. We did a pressure test on it and left it on there for like 15 minutes and it kept pressure. We topped off the fluid again along with some in the overflow tank. Only thing it could be would be a leak in the cylinder head, which could be real serious. So basically i just have to keep an eye on it and see what happens.

Actually, could still be the fan, one of the simplest pieces and it might be the culprit.

he said the fan was fine, running and all, but your right, ill have to take another look at it and just keep an eye on the coolant levels and the temp.

Thanks all for the input

okay so i took it to my shop again today. Last night i filled up the over flow tank with coolant. took a look at it at around 4 and is was down below the minimum line, which means i went through about a half gallon. Did another pressure test, still no leaks. I took a look at the spark plugs, those were still brand new. If it was going in there, the plugs would be all washed out. those are all still good. the fans are still going so its not that. So after all this, it seems like its pointing to the head, even though its not smoking. The oil isnt milky but after the oil change tomorrow we'll see for sure. if its not any of this, its the head which is going to be major. 2g's plus, i cant wait. anybody able to shed some light on what else it might be.

Truthfully, I'm stumped as hell. I've always been the one out of my friends to have odd car problems and this one is a new one. I personally wanna see how the oil change goes cus I'd hate to hear you gotta drop 2g's out of nowhere.

my car was recently overheating, especially when i was on the highway. The temp would go back to normal when i turn on the heater on full blast. After some research, i figured that it was most likely the fan switch, even though the fans would turn on when the a/c was on.

so i bought the fan switch this morning for 20 bucks at autozone and switching it out was really simple. plug and play. after driving it 25 miles to school, it didn't overheat one bit. Problem solved for me. so u might want to look into the fan switch. Good Luck!
