I use Meguiars Professional Yellow Wax. I'll take the Pepsi Challenge against any other off the shelf wax with this stuff.

Waxing "too often" i just an ineffient use of time and money. You won't get better results buy doing it that much, i'd only do it it every couple of months personally. I did notice however, when i had my black talon, which i waxed once to twice a month, it would get more hazy then it should have. I think the old wax on the bottom would just get old. I noticed if i waxed less, it wouldn't happen. You need to claybar your car to get all the excess of obviously.

My experience-wax every 2 months or so, wash as needed, claybar 1 to 2 times a year. That works for me.

when i was a noob back then, i claybar my car about once a month. LOL! i did noticed it was shiny A LOT. meaning, i didn't even wax it but it looks really shiny. but i soon to stop since i found out if you claybar too much, you could strip out the paint. so claybar usually make your car shine more than wax.

The only problem with ice is it doesn't last very long.. unlike conventional waxes it stays longer...

I don't really wax that much, i wouldn't say waxing is bad but overdoing it is just doing too much, i don't know if that damages the paint but i never had any issues with not waxing very often.. as long as the water still beads like a stripper sliding down a pole i'm good with that:D

How long does it takes you guys to clay bar the whole car, with lets say the Mother's or Meguiars clay bar kit? Are there any parts of the car you don't do?
After waxing what sort of soap do you use to bring back the shine, lets say 3 weeks and a couple raintstorms later?

I've heard some good things about that new Turtle Wax liquid clay bar. I know you have to do it more often though.
