so ever since i had an accident about 3 months ago my tranny slips from 1st to 2nd, but only when its cold. when it is cold i either have to let off the gas to get it into 2nd or take off from a stop in 2nd. i have an auto btw. the other weird thing is under full throttle acceleration from a roll my car acts like the fuel cuts off twice. once at like 4000rpm and once at like 5700rpm. please help i love this car and the body work is finally getting fixed and i just need the tranny running good as new thanks!

I'd check if I has enough Trans Oil in it now because you might of had a leak during the accident and maybe check for external damage. other than that yeah the V6's do have a cancer full of transmission issues some time in their life. With my car I try not to hammer on it until a little after it has reached operating temperature. You don't shift the car from 1st to 2nd to D3 and D4 do you?

occaisionally i will. like only when i want to run it hard to avoid the fuel cut off problem im having too. but now that i think about it it seems like maybe my tranny is giving out on hard accels when its not manually shifted? idk trannys are new to me dont know too much bout them. i also only shift it from 2-d3 to d4 when its cold otherwise if its in 1st then tries to shift to 2nd it slips up like i threw in neutral

6 speed swap would definitely be a dream come true but the parts are hard to find and expensive. im working a part time job and goin to school in 2 weeks so unless someone has a tranny and other parts for a swap that i could get for like $500 (like thatd happen) im kinda SOL. has anyone heard of this rebuild kit for the auto tranny on ebay? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/B7XA-M7ZA-Accord-Acura-3-0CL-Overhaul-Rebuild-Superkit-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQitemZ180413625320QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories they have 100% good feedback and it seems like the other transmission parts they sell get good reviews. so if i did do this and they are quality where can i find a guide to rebuild my tranny? this maybe my only economical route right now

honestly, rebuilding a tranny is like a skill you have to acquire. it's a pain in the ***, especially if you don't know what your doing. the transmission works off of hydraulic fluid. don't buy vital parts off eBay. unless it's used and oem from a good seller. there's a reason they charge so much...if I were you I would search craigslist or a junk yard. and if you do find one, install a tranny cooler & filter. for the v6 accords a filter is a must. for the 4cyl you don't really need a filter.

well im willing to tackle anything and learn a new skill.. im really technically inclined. they use factory friction and a company called raybestos for the steel module which seems reputable. and aftermarket filter and piston. and this seller seems legit he has other rebuild kits for other cars. i mean for $210 i might as well try to rebuild it before i drop alot on another tranny. i mean worst ill do is mess it up and have to spend another $900 which i can easily get. just if someone has a guide or even if a helms or chilton manual will show me let me know. because a 6 speed swap is way out of the question. i thought possibly a 5speed auto swap but dont know how much of a wiring nightmare that would be. but first i should try changing the transmission fluid so hopefully *fingers crossed* that will solve the problem now until it fully goes out unless its already gone.
