if it was a na build I wouldnt be as worried about it. just makes me uneasy that paul is worried about it since he has tons of experience with this engine. the way the f23 is made makes it so a bore that big your risking thin spots in the cylinder walls. hopefully inline pro did a good job with the bore and hone and I don't run into problems.

Just got the block back from inline pro. had it bored and honed to fit my new 86.5mm CP pistons

Well you can't really blame the machine shop if you had them bore it out to 86.5mm. I really doubt you will have any issues for the power range you are shooting for though. Have fun with car man.

If you are worried about warping and sleeve integrity, maybe a block guard will add some stability. Closing up the deck should make it more stable and help it last longer.

have you talked to inline pro about the problem that you might face in the future. you should probably talk to them sooner rather than later. just let them know that there might be a problem. do it before any problems arise, b/c if you dont tell them now, they will blame it on you, and your driving styles and they will probably bring up a whole lot of bulls**t that's not necessary true.
how i think of it is if there were something to go wrong with person car, that person will try to blame anybody who had any sort of corrilation with the object, to try to get it fixed for free. thats a typical person.
if you tell them your concerns b4 something goes wrong that separates you from the crowd of people who just try to blame things on other so they wont have to pay the cost.
idk if that made sense, hopefully it did:thumbup:

I originally ordered 86mm pistons but they had them sent back and ordered the 86.5mm oversized pistons because they told me it HAD to be bored to 86.5mm. so it was 100% their call there.

to late for that, the engine is already completely assembled. plus a block gaurd is more for cylinder walking. I'm more worried about a thin spot in the iron sleeve that may give out due to the pressures of boost. All I can really do is hope it holds.

no I totally understand what your trying to say. I was going to do exactly that so there would be no question of fault if there are problems down the road.

Oh o.k that would make a little more sense as to why you might be pissed off.

car's done. listened to her purrr this morning

paul wants to wait till tomorrow when its not pouring rain to take the car out for a test drive so he can watch the a/f and make sure the basemap is safe to drive home on. then she'll be parked till my other rad fan and coolant line kit for the turbo comes. I'll take a few vids when I get the car home.
