In one of the last pics I see you tested to see if the studs threaded in. I hope you're going to remove those before lining up the head during assembly. Then put them in when everything is aligned. Don't forget to put the 2 metal alignment dowels in the coolant channels! When I was replacing my head gasket, I forgot to put them in, and had to take half the thing apart and lift it just so I could work them in and tighten everything down again.

I haz no dowel pins.... directions that came with the ARP studs said to hand thread them in first then lower the head down onto them.

^ If your intake manifold is off, then yes this is the way. You want to mount the head after you affix your Blacktrax plate, and IM to head. ARP was wrong and right. If you want to put head on when IM and everything else is on it already, you must remove the studs and virtually slide the head into place. Don't literally slide - it will scuff mating surface. Then line up block, gasket, and head with holes. Next insert the studs when it is physically in place. When you took your head off - it didn't have any dowels on the posterior side of block/head? They just fit in the outer coolant channels. Every stock Honda engine has them.. Look closely, make sure you didn't misplace them!

well not sure wtf happened to the ones from mine but luckily I still have the old engine to pull parts off of. Going back to Va for the weekend when I get back Monday I'll be putting the head on and finishing the wiring for my gauges and the wideband other then that It's pretty much ready to go to a shop. I'm deciding between three shops to send it to so it can be finished up, there's one close to hear that I was recommended to to have them finish but I was told not to have it tuned there. My instructor said he's willing to help me tune the car at the school and make sure I don't blow it up so I may still tune the car. It all depends how much I'll have to pay to get the car completely ready to be tuned then I'll decide on what I'm gonna do about tuning.

Honestly as much as I wanna tune it I still may have inline pro tune it since there's a huge elevation difference between here and back home. Inline pro is less then 30 miles from my house back home so the elevation difference is minimal. I know it won't make a huge difference so I'm still really unsure.

Plan as of now is to have it to a shop by next weekend so I can get it done before the end of February

yep like nikita said dont forget them dowel pins, they are important and the ones thatll make slapping the head on ( without the arps threaded in ) easier cus they pretty much keep everything in line for you.

lol trust me I know how important dowel pins are. we had to line up a tranny at school that someone had lost all the dowel pins for and it was a total pain in the ****ing ***. I'm still curious as to where the **** mine went though....

no updates as of now. Plan is that tonight after class we're gonne pull the short block back out and thrpw it back on an engine stand and finish putting everything together in the warmth of my friends house instead of trying to fanangle everything in with the short block already on the mounts in the freezing cold that is my storage unit. Should have it fully assembled by this weekend so we can drop it back in then. After that I've got some wiring to do and we'll fit the intercooler and piping as best we can and leave any cutting that needs to be done for the shop to do. other then that it doesn't really need too much more.

I went to check out that local shop that I was recommended to and the dude definitely knows what he's talking about but he estimated me $1000-$1500 for "custom fab work" which is ****ing ridiculous since the only "custom fab" that needs to be done I could to in a day if I had access to a TIG welder.

So the search for a good shop continues. I've already been qouted about $400 by inline pro and I'm in the process of getting an estimate from a shop in finksburg, md called Absolute Pro-formance. One of their builds was just featured in the most recent honda tuning. A 1000+ hp integra with a B series

After I talk to them theres one more shop thats outside pittsburg that I'm gonna give a call as well.

^ Good call, get that one. It does the same thing - it's like a mini microphone which picks up knock. Amplifier sensor.
