Re: Pics from work enjoy

ARE YOU SERIOUS???? Over rated?

Find me another car that is advance as the GT-R for that price.

Ok, well if you don't want to void the warranty.

A 08 z06 is faster in a straight line and cheaper. The GTR only runs 0-60 in 4.1 seconds without the warranty ending launch control. With the money you would save in the difference you could have the z06 tons faster, more than likely on the track and the quarter mile.

Let alone that makes that kind of power. You can't.

What is making power when you can't put it down to the pavement without breaking something?

This car is worth every penny. Not sure if you all saw the episode on TopGear when they took the car on the track and street and what it did, but this car performs like no other. To think, this is just the start of what is going to be a automobile battle over who makes the best production car.

It did do well, but so does Mega-modded STIs, EVOs, similiar platformed cars. I can agree though that this car does handle well. Worth the money well? Eh..

Watch for Honda, Toyota and Chevrolet. The ZR1 is in this cars class and is almost twice as expensive. I say Toyota builds the Supra and match it to the GT-R

The GTR is only so much cheaper because they cut corners. Apparently some people still don't understand why a true supercar costs so much still... The engine is powerful, the drivetrains are damn near bulletproof, the car is made out of lightweight materials, etc.

When you add up the costs for a supercar to be made correctly, it's expensive.. People will learn soon that there is no bargain supercar, and that's what the GTR is trying to be...

You are absolutely right. I agree that a modded Evo, STi or a Vette will mount up to the GTR's performance. What I meant was as a production car right off the line this car is one of the best built vehicles.

Just out of curiousity, what is everyone seeing these cars priced at?

I have seen them from 70-90K depending on options I assume and the dealer mark up. I know someone who got one for 63K out the door. Now he also has hook ups at the dealer but none the less at a bad a$$ price.

Now if the car is selling at 100K+ then yeah, I would say thats fkn ridicoulous. Then I would say thats way too much for the car

1slosedan what are you talken about 4.1 0-60 there is a video of it doing 3.3(look at edit), and I have seen plenty of gtr's well below a hundred grand but yes there are some for that much. Here is the video of the 0-60 in 3.3.

edit lol I'm the dumb *** didn't read the "without the launch control" part my bad, foot in my mouth.:fail:

But I would still think that if someone has the money to buy one and they have the intension of modding it or taking it to the track they are not worried about the warrenty just my two cents.

No one said they had the intention of taking it to the track or modding them... Search the original thread about the GTR warranty issues.. Just because you spent that much does not mean you want to drop another 20k in for the tranny... My dad got an 08 M5, and I can guarantee he be pissed if the tranny blew.. Before you say it, he does drive it like it's meant to be driven and has the Dinan intake/catback/soon x-pipe.

The car would be very cool if the tranny could take the power.. I would be swinging off it's nuts too if it wasn't so fragile...
