Hey guys,

Newbie here but I did search the forums (and google) to look for an answer. I also read the DIY sticky and rechecked the wiring.

A few weeks ago my cluster and HVAC lights went out, realized the fuse labeled small light and license plate blew. I replaced that with a 7.5 fuse (which was the one that was in there when it blew).

After replacing the fuse, all of the lights come back on without a problem. After arming my alarm, the park lights did not flash. It also doesn't flash when I disarm or set off the alarm, only chirps. I checked the park light fuse and went overboard and checked the rest, and they were all good. Then I stumbled upon the fuse I just replaced, on the diagram (passenger side) the fuse was supposed to be 10 amps! I quickly put in a 10, but still to no avail.

I had the alarm installed by a professional quite a while ago, and lost contact with them. So I searched for the brain and followed the wires. The H11 white wire was soldered into the park light red/black white on the driver side and didn't look like there were any problems. I went ahead and swapped out the only 4 fuses I found around the brain. I was reading online that there were fuses inside the brain? I tried to open it but it seemed like the front cover was connected to the chip/motherboard and if I forced it off it might break some component so I opted not to. Well after all that, still no flashing park light.

Could it possibly be something with an output signal issue? When arming/disarming, I still hear the clicking sounds from inside (as they did when they used flash) triggering, but no flash.

Any ideas?

Is it one of the viper's with the slide out cover with the fuses underneath? And do the parking lights still work with the OEM switch? There could be a problem with the brain or the wiring between the brain and the factory wiring if the OEM switch still functions. The viper brain should output 12v+ when the keyfob button is depressed. I would check the circuit at the brain and at the connection with the red/black stripe wire in the OEM fuse block. If you don't get the 12v+ at the connection then you have a problem with the viper brain. The viper should have a lifetime warranty if you can contact the shop that originally installed it. If not DEI may be willing to honor the warranty if you can provide a copy of the receipt where you had it professionally installed.

Do your parking lights work otherwise?
Any settings on the alarm to enable/disable parking lights

Yes, the park lights come on when normally turned on, just not through the alarm. I tried enabling and disabling them through the settings and still no luck.

The brain had a cover held in by screws. I didn't see any fuses inside of it, and couldn't completely open it cause it looked like some of the metal tabs on the chip were connected to the cover (I didn't want to break anything and I put some force into pulling it apart).

I will check the connection voltage but the wiring seems fine. If I lost the receipt, and if the place won't give me a new one, will they still honor it? And if they do would they just send a new kit?

The receipt issue depends on the shop. My head installer and myself could tell if we installed the alarm and if it had been tampered with. If the shop is still around and has a decent reputation in town then you should stop by and see what they say. If it goes back to viper prepare to pay for an removal and reinstall since it probably will be a new brain.

I know its too late now but make sure that you keep receipts around on lifetime warranty equipment.
