Re: What car to get next... sell the accord?

I've been driving my moms 6 series since my accord died on Wednesday

I forgot how much of a better car it is compared to my accord.

its a savage and girls love it.

*sigh* girls love it because only a man would think the M6 is manly, and just barely.

so you're driving a chick car, chicks see an M6 as the same thing as a regular 6.

love how he posted a pic to reiterate "hey guys! just in case the text didn't give you a clue, I'm a fake BMW driver right now!"

I almost want to say "yeah? chicks are impressed when they find out it's your mom's car? or is this another case of you lying and saying it's actually yours?"

Everyone knows I have an accord haha its all over fb and everyone knows its my moms. Who said i said it was a m6? I said they like the car, that's all. I did say imagine if it was a M6. Idt its a chick car but that's my opinion. Op if u wanted a coupe my recommendation would be a M6. Or if u want a sub, 2013 Srt8 jeep.

Re: What car to get next... sell the accord?

Got that right :naughty:

Yeah, unfortunately, I've read way too many stories regarding the transmissions. At 49,000 I didn't expect many problems though, to be honest.

I noticed one thing today, sometimes it downshifts roughly and gives me a bit of a jolt. Its pretty rare though. Probable causes were something with the electrical circuits, I believe something regarding solenoid? I'm not too sure about that. I also forgot to mention that I've experienced the D4 light blinking, TCS, and CEL on all at the same time several times already. Again, this makes me a tad uneasy :eusa_doh:

Love RWD :driving:, the only AWD that I'd consider is a GTR but I want something that can handle the abhorrent roads of NYC :eusa_doh:, as for FWD... I'm not too sure on that.

Loveee coupes, not planning to have a family for a LONG time so I'm fine with 2 doors, sedans are okay too, absolutely hate verts...

Budget: 9x,xxx. Will know more by the end of the fiscal year :ugh:

Other than that I'm open to pretty much anything though ;)

Thank you sir!

Hey eggs! I remember your buddy had a supercharged M3 right? Good stuff. Haha yes the GTR is amazing, but the practicality factor, unfortunately, isn't there. Its probably top 10 on my list though...

Ehh, just got outa the M so I'm trying to try something new, love the high revving engines though.

Yeah the C63 is sweet! I really love how it looks, very very aggressive. Not so much into the CTS-V though
I have a friend that has a GTR and for the practicality factor. I would say it would be practical enough for most people. It has a surprising amount of trunk space. The only thing that really doesn't count is the back seats. I'm 5'10" and my head touches the headliner and rear window. You wouldn't want to be in the rear seats in the event of a crash. Before you rule out the GTR as an option I would at least check it out in person. None of the other potential cars you're looking at will give you the same joy that flooring a GTR has. The feeling is quite insane, you never really get used to it.

transmission issues at or below 50k arent common, but they havent been nonexistent either. and yeah, the shift solenoids have been known to go bad as well, so id check them too.

and youve got my vote for that benz, haha.

That's a good sized budget. I didn't realize you were driving an e92 M3, figured it was an e36 like everyone else on here.

Why not an A6 or S6? AWD and more comfortable for those infamous roads. Or an A5/S5 if you want 2 doors. Or if you're a BMW guy I believe there is an AWD 5-Series. Though it might be hard going from an M car to a standard 5, even though it's a 3 vs 5.

I'm with you on convertibles though, I can't stand the way they look with the tops up, especially soft tops. Some hard tops look alright, but then you lose the trunk space. Coupes look best in coupe form, convertible tops kill the hotness that is the c-pillar...

Never been much of an Audi guy but the designs they've been coming up with are amazing. The interior...

Funny you mention the 5 series, my friend has a 550ix (his sticker price was significantly more than my E92) so due to my intense curiosity, (I usually never, ever do this) we traded cars for the weekend. He loved the M3 and to be frank, I found the 550 to be some-what dull. To sum it up in one sentence. I felt like I was steering a boat, seriously.

I hate soft tops :ugh:

@Halabeaster - I never fancied the 6 series. Good suggestion though.

@2000blackcoupe - I know I'll get flamed for saying this, but I view the 911 as a old mans car, don't ask me why because honestly, I don't even know.
I'm actually going to the dealership this weekend. It'll be my first time driving a P-car, hopefully it'll live up to the reviews.

@crossfire - The 2012 GTR is REALLY tempting... I'm 6ft so the height thing might be an issue. I'll make a decision after a test drive though.

@sketch - I hope the transmission doesn't go out anytime soon. The rides pretty smooth and cabin noise on the highway is minimal, in short, it makes an excellent DD.
As for the C63. That 6.2L V8 :love::love:

Thanks for the input guys!

And another thing about the GTR is that it gets an average 15mpg. That's cruising with a coupe hard accelerations. I'm sure it can hit 20mpg if you really wanted.

At 6ft tall, you'll be fine in the front. My friend is 6 feet tall and some and he doesn't have trouble getting in and out.
