The Porter Cable is pretty highly regarded on Autopia, i'd place my money on it IMO

the dewalt grinder with the buffer attachment is unbeatable maybe have to save a bit more money but it will outlast them all, ive had awesome luck with both theyre batery and wired machines

iv been using my 19.99$ Chicago electric adjustable speed buffer from harber freight with no issues.
also a Turtle wax 6" orbital polisher from walmart also for 19.99$ works fine.left my car swirl free and clean quickly and cheaply..using the right products and pads is a different story.

I've got a PC7242xp as well as a Dewalt DW849. If I were just starting out the 7424 would be the way to go. Easy to use and a good piece of equipment.
