My Dad's car is having a massive oil leak problem. The oil leak is coming from around that thing. Do you know what it is?

EDIT: I should put that it's a 1999 4 cyl DX sedan

that would be your IACV i believe. There shouldn't be oil in there... That doesn't look like an Accord IACV though.

I just looked up the picture of an IACV. It almost does look the same, except this is located behind the engine.

Since it is a DX sedan it is def not a VTEC solenoid :p.

Where did it come from motor wise?

It's at the back of the engine on the left side. Left side as in the distributor side. Yeah, I suck at descriptions. In the morning, I'll take a picture of the location.

That's a VTEC solenoid 'plug' I'm guessing.. as DX models have no VTEC.

Actually, you might be correct. Dad went to Autozone today and they told him it was a vtec cover. Whatever that means. I found this picture of an F23 vtec solenoid.

That picture I had above is in the same spot of that solenoid, I think

Every time I start the car, I hear the "swish" sound in the engine bay. That's the sound of oil spraying out. Is it usual for a non-vtec "VTEC" solenoid plug to fail? Do you guys know the part # for the gasket because I can't find it.

I fixed my problem couple of months ago. The part above

#12811-PAB-A00 COVER, OIL PASSAGE
#12812-PAB-A01 GASKET, OIL PASSAGE COVER

It's pictured as #7 and #8 on 001Stunna's pic.

The oil passage cover comes with the gasket in place. The dealership confused the hell out of me and made me order both the cover and the gasket. So I have an extra gasket. But hell, no more oil leak for me!
