You really don't have to. We only took the front bumper, side skirts, and door moldings off of my car. The rear bumper stayed on as well as the tail lights. The paint gets into the grooves just fine.

My leather seats were pretty cracked so I put black/blue seat covers in front. Matches my floor blue leds nicely.
