Here are a few shots of the JTC SS kit. The second has a red dot which shows more or less where the wire on the right side attaches to the stock shifter. Could be a little higher but I can't remember since I threw the old one away.

On the last pic. you can see that to continue to shorten the shifter there needs to be some cutting done to the actual shifter box. it needs to be trimmed down to allow the shifter itself to be lowered more, otherwise its going to hit against it.

Thanks for the pics, Elio. I think I’m even more confused now though, lol. It looks like your shift lever was cut in 2 pieces, and then both pieces were drilled with holes to allow for height adjustability with the JTC kit?

I thought short shift kits just relocated where one or both of the shifter cables bolted to the shift lever. I didn't think you had to cut the shift lever or anything.

the jtc kit actually replaces the stock shift lever so you can adjust height and throw unlike ss adapters which only shorten the throw.

Yes the new lever has the ball also if you go to the jtc website they have detailed pics of what the kit looks like uninstalled. It looks like a real solid design and a nice upgrade. I will be getting one at some point.

I guess my question would be how would this compare to say the P-Spec SS setup?

The design of the JTC one is interesting, but I would be concerned about something loosening up over time with that type of a setup.

That's basically it Chris. you can adjust the height by moving the pieces after you unscrew them. There are 4 screws attached to the shifter itself which can be removed via an allen key. I did not have to cut anything because I like the position at which the shifter is right now ( height ). If in the future I wanted to lower it more I will have to cut the shifter box right above where the shifter sits to allow it to move down more.

I never installed the Pspec setup so I can't compare between the two.

I was a bit concerned with the screws maybe loosening up with time but after tightening everything up it felt good and secure. There is no play whatsoever after everything was installed.

I will report back if that changes tho. My car is my daily driver and if there are any flaws I am sure they won't take long to show.
