sounds about right. the humps in between lanes are quite substantial, as there are no concrete roads in BC, just asphalt.

what is the stock offset for a 6GA? and if i were to buy 17x7 tires, would i want to buy that same size, or would the offset change due to the tires being wider than stock?

sorry? i wouldn't be on here if i already knew the answers to the questions im asking. since i just received the infamous "facepalm", why not share your infinite knowledge with me and answer my question, so the next time someone who doesn't know much about tire/rim sizing asks a similar question, i might be able to help them out...

and yes i know im a n00b, and as such theres going to be some dumb questions

Offset applies to wheels only. As far as tires go...215/50/17 and 224/45/17 are usually the most popular sizes I think. Just go to tirerack to find the recommended tire size.

Stock honda offset is usually around +55.

Contact patch is larger than stock, of course you're gonna feel things in the road more. There is also an arch to most roads.

Agreed, it doesn't take a brain surgeon to figure this out. Also, the fact your tires are probably lower profile aids to less tire flex. Thus, causing even more of the symptoms your describing. The solution is easy, don't drive in the grooves.

buy some new tires, try name brand tires.

get some fatter walls too, maybe 205/45/17 or 205/50/17.

check your ball joints for excessive wear.

A negative scrub radius is preferred for front-wheel-drive cars since it gives a stabilizing effect when traction between the left and right wheels varies. If a single front wheel loses traction during acceleration or braking-like what would occur if one tire goes over a patch of ice-the other front wheel will toe-out a certain degree depending on the amount of steering compliance, which will tend to steer the car in a straight line. At the same time, the driver will feel a certain amount of kickback through the steering wheel.
this makes sense. as i go over the hump in between lanes, the contact patch on the one tire would be smaller, casuing kickback through the steering wheel in the oppiset direction.

Spacing wheels out by means of smaller offsets... increases the scrub radius. This makes a negative scrub radius less negative, maybe even positive. This could lead to unequal front-wheel traction depending upon the difference between the old and new offsets.

so stock offset is +46.

youre really getting into this a lot more than you needed to. but whatever.

and i can tell you, stock offset is definitely not +46, regardless of what that says. the one that seems to be right is the one listed for the v6 accord, which says +55.

Even when I had my first set of aftermarket wheels, they were +42 offset and I didn't have half the problems your complaining about. Although, maybe it was too small for me to notice.
