I don't think its an overflow, more of a breather for pressure release from the transmission. I'll look at the trans sitting in my garage and see if I can find where it connects. I remember seeing it when rebuilding, just can't remember where it went.

It goes underneath the Trans mount. You wont see it unless the mount is off the tranny. And a breather/overflow do the same thing. Relive pressure of liquids or gases.
