I think Mista JC has a molded lip on his coupe. Dunno if he did it himself but its worth asking.
ya when sanding bondo you reach air pockets that need to be re-filled with more bondo if not sanded out smooth.but then probably by that time youl have a dip and need to fill it back up..
as long as you dont flex it to much putting it back on,ect it should last..we use polyester filler on bumpers at work and its fine..just primer it,block it then paint it.
iv done so much body work its not even funny how much bondo sucks..lol but just spend some time with it sanding,filling.sanding..eventually itl turn out good.
edit;if the holes are air bubbles and not just where the bondo seaped through the cracks then you should mix it with a folding like method instead of stiring it..that causes air pockets inside the bondo*cant see it but when sanding out you will see.
i thikn you can get it at home depot. i saw it before. i also believe walmart has them also. but yeah, bondo isn't good for lip because when you hit something, it'll crack for sure.
why would u mold a lip on ur bumper if ur car was that low?

Thank you. I already took all the bondo off. It wasnt going the way I planned.Let see hmm.. poly-urethane on polyurethane, First scrape off all that bond or crack it off because it will anyways on its own. Evercoat makes something called "puddy glaze" which is very "mud-like" usually used on bumpers to fill in dents. The other thing is your going have to re-enforce the whole rear side of the bumper with fiberglass to reduce flexing. There is also plastic weld but it depends how good you are, I used this on my bike fairings but I failed at it. I molded a rear lip using the puddy alone on my hatch but front bumper is a different issue. Please buy your materials at a automotive paint store. GoodLuck with your experiment, you will learn as you go.
I dont get it. Well. The reason why I wanted to do this is because I thought it would look cool and no one has done it.why would u mold a lip on ur bumper if ur car was that low?
lolbecause that's what the cool katz do.![]()
ya check out pepboys,advanced ect..
we use EVERCLEAR at work. but when i molded my body kit to my car i used fiberglass matt and resin..then sanded that down then layed some kitty hair resin over top of that.sanded that down then bondo.
its a long process and lots of sand paper..haha
edit-
also the longer you leave that bondo sitting there, the harder its gonna be to sand..just FYI
