well i dont have any pics yet but its a pain in the *** to install if you dont know what your doing.
i couldn't find a thread on this so i decided to make one.
So i got one of those ebay obx throttle body spacers. it looked legit 100% feedback. It came with all the hard ware but no instructions so i was stuck, looked online for some DIY on it, none found....
first thing i checked if the bolts would fit. they did fit but not long enough.
i ran to autozone lowes wal mart home depot.. none of them had it. napa was the only place that had it. 17.00 for four bolts. holy ****!
So the kit comes with
2 gaskets
a bracket
2 big *** spacers
3 little bolts
2 tiny tiny bolts(sorry i dont kno the sizes)
4 large bolts
Needed hardware.
razor blade.
flat head screw driver
12Mm socket wrench
12mm open end wrench
needle nose pliers
new rubber hose (the ones you use for intakes n such)
4 new bolts from NAPA. about 8/16 i believe? fine thread. 4-5 inches long. dont go to home depot or autozone. they wont have it and there thread on it is to coarse.
8 washers
throttle body cleaner(only if you want to)
step one.
unscrew the plastic cover that is covering your throttle body(just 2 screws)
take out your intake
step two.
unplug your two sensors on your throttle body.(remember where they go)
disconnect all the hoses on your throttle body using your needle nose.
dont forget the one on the bottom
step three.
using the 12 mm take off the 4 bolts that holdin your throttle body. use a flat head to pry the throttle body off. gently wiggle it off.
Step four
completely take off the hose thats on the bottom, thats one of em that you'll be replacing.
measure your new hose and make it about 2 inches longer.
step five.
taking off the two studs on your throttle body
this can easily be done by screwing the nut on backwards and putting another nut on correct.
use the 12mm open end wrench to unscrew the backwards nut( you'll see what i mean)
step 6.
use the razor blade to clean off the nasty green gasket thats on there. scrape it clean!
use some throttle body cleaner after done scrapping all that **** off. i cleaned the **** out of mines.
it gives it a nice shine after your done lol.
step 7.
DO NOT REMOVE YOUR STOCK SPACER!
put together your throttle body spacer.
gasket-throttle body spacer-gasket- throttlebody.
to make it easier stick two bolts through. top left and bottom right, and then assemble together.
when your tightening your bolts you wanna tighten them in a star pattern (just like tires.)
step 8.
assemble eveything back together make sure your sensors are correct. you'll notice things are more harder to put together due to lack of space. put your intake back on. your vacumm line will be shortter so your gonna have to extend that to.
Step 9. unplug your battery and reset your car.
when you start your car its gonna idle funny at first but it will stop.
i'll post some pics soon.
TO me the TBS is just addin more air. i dont really see a diffrence yet.
its just more louder when vtec kicks in and it makes a loud *** whistle noise. people pull up to me thinking im boosted.
as for the rest of the screws. i have to idea where they go. my buddy that works at honda has no idea either. He said that TBS are interchangeable with other cars so they probably come with extra hardware for other cars.
leave some thoughts n such
