Except for my two friends (they're a couple and both drive decently modded tC's) they are all douche bags.

Watching a 16 year old stall a 630hp sedan when trying to showoff in front of the high school = priceless.

:eusa_doh: Makes me want to cry just thinking about it.

A kid at my school got his little Dodge Dakota totalled a few weeks ago, and today he came in with a 2002 BMW 335i :bash: Even though the car was not much more (if at all) expensive than my Accord, it's still the fact that this idiot has a 335i now.
Have fun with insurance ;)

Hmmm....

For all the old school 6GA mods that know me, please pardon my aggrevation for a moment. I am taking this personally because I just read this and the other thread bashing TC owners. Why are we adding to the enormous amount of automotive envy and hatred? Don't we as car owners, get enough from other car owners. Why add to it?

too many of them around Detroit, also Neons too, I dont care if they are an SRT-4, they still look ugly and the drivers act ghey too.

Also Colbalt SS's too, put the Neon drivers with the Colbalt drivers and they are all over their heads, you dont have to make your BOV go off when you are backing into your parking space, just let the reverse gear back up for you, not your right foot
Be careful whose toes you step on. I've been a long time member here and this is a pretty ignorant statement. I currently do own and road race an SRT-4 is there a problem with that car?

As far as the BOV, if you understood a bit more, certain BOVs are more sensitive to pressure relieve. My SRT-4 has a Mopar BOV that is overly sensitive and hits the relieve valve even vacuum.

^^^ +1 neons and their mcD's arch spoilers

Hmmm....

Yup up here in Michigan they Neons call themselves Skittles, they think its cool and I absolutely hate it. The may have small little turboed engines but most of them install some sort of ghey neon lights and install F&F type graphics on the sides of their cars. And then most of them are scared to lower their car but install 17 or 18 inch wheels.

We have a local meet near my house every Sunday night and whenever I pull up those Neons all get skurred when I tell them to lower their cars and then I show them how much I've lowered my car and they just walk away and turn up their bass and try to be cool.

Again, SRT-4's have a flap on the bottom of the car that deflects air to the radiator. If the SRT-4's are more than 2 inches lowered, this hits the radiator shroud. As far as getting 17 inch rims, they come standard with 17 inch rims.

i kid, but what i think the ppl here are trying to say is tht these car nowadays tht come out pre modded (Scion, Wrx, SRT-4, Cobalt SS) are the reason for the mentality. follow me on this, if parents buy a car for their kids, it usually has to meet two guidelines...... safe and reliable. and most new cars offer both. now if you had 22k and had to buy a cool new safe car, your options are limited to those 4 cars above and a few non "tuner" cars. now the kid has the coolest, most tuned car out of the box and thinks all other cars are worthless. it would happen to the majority of us if we were in tht scenario.

we just have to prove tht their cars are not tht great

Straight line racing or road course racing? I just got back from Homestead with some better lap times, I'll take you on at a road course.

Straight line racing I'll let you win because I don't know the first thing about launching.

I know someone who almost head-on'd a teacher at my school while "drifting" on a mountain road in his TC. Supposedly he does it every day >_<

You have no idea how jealous I am Peter, lol. You are living my dream.

I'd just like to add something to what Matt said. That is to not take things so personally. Those of us that have known you, are aware that your are not one of those stereotypical Skittle drivers. In fact, with the experience that you've received over the past year, you are probably one of the more skilled drivers on this site. Just keep that in mind. Just because there is a stereotype placed upon a certain group of people, doesn't mean you fit into that stereotype.

I agree that it is ignorant for people to make such generalized statements, but you're always going to have those who do. At least you'll have something to laugh about when you're turning laps at Homestead.

I always say this when I come back to 6GA after a long time. It's good to have a family to come back to.

Thanks for the compliments.

I agree. I'm just against adding to the problem. Sure, there are douchebag SRT-4 owners, Subaru owners, Honda owners, x owners. But knowing that is a problem of douche baggery, why add to the problem.

I separate myself from a lot of SRT-4 owners. I don't go to many of their car meets because most of the time there are a few people who ruin it for me. I'd rather have automotive enthusiasts who drive what they drive and love cars. Not assturds who believe what they drive are the end all be all. I can always find SOMETHING majorly wrong with any car.

Check out HookedonDriving.com. Those are the people I just did an event with. Forgot if your car was 5-speed or auto.

Remember that I learned how to road race at VIR with my Accord. Don't downplay the Accord. If I wasn't such a nut, my goal would have been to build the Accord into a legitimate track car as far as suspension would allow. It makes me cry more than we don't have access to the ATR or Euro-R. Their chassis and frame were injected to be more rigid. One day...

I'm contemplating an H22 LSD swapped 5thGen and working the hell out of a suspensions set-up. Knowing what I know now, if I did do a build as such, I'd probably be able to rape and surprise a few cars on the track.
