Coilover seized !

lol, ive done mine plenty of times as well. and yea, the rear is a little more involved, i guess you could say, since you have to line up the bolt hole. unlike the front where you just drop it in haha.

im pretty sure you have to line up the front too ....the index thingy on the shocks

yea, but on coilovers like ksports, that notch goes all the way around the base, so that you can set it to any height. if that notch was just at one spot, you could only do certain height increments.

wow all i hear is problems with coilovers. all my friends have them they complain about stiffness in winter, problems adjusting them,seizing up. no wonder why i dont get them .

stiff in the winter? your friends are retarded. coilovers are usually stiff all the time, unless you buy some softass teins. seizing up is just part of the bs, what else would you expect since the threads are exposed 24/7. if you maintain them well, they might not even seize. im pretty sure i could move my fronts, since i covered them up last winter....they still look new.

I used KY hot to the touch lube on my seized ksports. True story. Me and my friends tried wd40, a hammer and screw driver and nothing worked until we used the KY.

personally, im expecting to have this problem when i get around to lowering my car more. what i was thinking was putting a good set of vice grips on the threads that are behind the coilover spring, since theyre not going to be used ever, and then the pipe wrench on the sleeve and then just spin, haha.

yeah. but if you cant get it loosen, use a torch, thats how i got mines loosen. put the part where the bolt goes through on the bottom to a vise and tighten it all the way. then a vise grip on the part where the rubber covers the top of the shock and turn it after its been heated enough.

yeah when installing it. but after for coilovers you dont have to.

i tried that too and didnt work. but i got it loose now and going to clean them up and put them back on soon.

does anyone know if i should use multi grease or anti seize on the treads so they wont seize up again?

some anti seize wouldnt hurt, thats what i should do to mine, hahaha.
