I wasn't planning on it but now I know nobody that will be willing. I guess I'll just makes 20 stops and if no one wants the extra cash I'll undergo the swap. I also need to know this for a 'just in case' scenario.

As much as I like the Coupe I need more powah to make it worth it! With the J30 I give up some revving abilities for more torque, fair deal. Hunter drove me in his 6 speed it was noticeably faster than my car too, or at least it felt like it, butt dyno feels torque. For the first time I revved the H to 7800rpm or so today, omg that is soo nice, and to think it's an undersquare too.

So to wrap things up the A/C controls swap is a no go, and so is the alternator. That kinda sucks since I have a carputer lcd molded in there and an Irraggi alternator that can take high revs and crank out lots of amps at idle. Maybe Irraggi will make me a V6 HO Alt, but the LCD screen needs to be molded in again...what a *****.

The only thing the J30 has on your car is torque, it is also noticeably quicker coming out of turns because of the torque. As long as you keep your rpms high, there is no reason you should fall behind.....anyway, Why can't you just get your own car to pass smog and deq?

Just go buy an accord with a bad trans

I know the auto sucks that's the reason I didn't buy the V6 to begin with, that and the 6speed swaps were not done back then, I would swap over to a 6speed for sure. That combo is just as potent as my h22 and legal in so. cal.

My peak torque is about 200lb/ft and it comes early, at 5200rpm but that's still a peak and after boltons. I suspect the J30 torque if far higher if you look at area under the curve, then there are boltons. I can definitely use more power coming out of turns, or a shorter 2, 3 gear.

H22 Swap
So, can I swap:
Door panels
Carbon fiber trunk and hood
Manual A/C dash unit
Alternator
Steering wheel
Seats
Suspension
Sway bars
Camber kit
my '00 bumper and Type R lip and grille
Exhaust-catback
P-spec tunning shifter assembly (with J32A2 transmission)
Gauge cluster overlays

=\=

Trade me your car, I will put some cash on top. Im a legit 5 speed F23 with basics.

Greg probably has the best advice. Buy a coupe v6 with a bad transmission, probably not hard to find. Find one with high miles, chances are...the transmission is bad. You can probably get it for dirt cheap too if the person does not know how to fix it.

Yep, I don't mind cutting costs where it doesn't matter. On the other hand I can sell the auto trans if it does work and I don't want too much millage on the odo since after all I will use the engine. Either way the V6 is the way to go I think, the fastest way to go legal if I have to.

I was wondering if the J30A1 can be build with Acura parts like the j32A2 head and RL pistons and still be legal, that would be sweet. It all depends on how the engine management would work I think.
