Finished up the baffle today. Now I'm having a problem with the Rockford Fosgate. The magnet is slapping the basket and making a horrible noise. What the hell!! I put some gorilla glue in the seem but it didn't help.:madrun:

turn the subsonic frequency up. Seems like it's passed it's excursion limits...

I could be wrong though..

It's turned up all the way to 20hz. It's as if something came loose but i'm not sure. It makes noise way before xmax.

My subsonic filter goes from 0hz to 20hz. I have it set to 20Hz which is the highest I can set it. The magnet was probably rattling when I had it in the box but I never heard it. I can't hear it when sitting in my car but if I open the trunk it's rattling pretty loud. And yes I am 100% positive the rattle is coming from the sub.

like...is the magnet actually loose? can you grab it and shift it (before the repair)?

thats weird though...if it was motor noise, you'd only hear it when the volume is lower... and the 20Hz subsonic eliminates most frequencies the sub can't play but will try...

Yes I can take the magnet in my hand and move it. It almost looks like the back of the basket is flexing when I move the magnet. I'm really disappointed at the poor structural integrity of this sub.

Not sure what you mean by the top or the bottom, but it is the connection between the magnet and the basket that is either weak or loose. The magnet is not solid against the frame of the woofer. I don't know how else to explain this...

i mean...since the sub is mounted vertically, is the "top" or the "bottom" of the magnet loose? think of it like north or south. if the top is loose, i'd think the weight of the magnet being held up by the bottom half of the basket would allow it to shear off if you hit a bump hard enough or something...
