Re: 1BAD6's Skyline Gray Paint and Bodywork Thread!!

Paint looks great, enjoying following your various update threads. That's an awesome color. IMO, there's no reason for a spoiler like that, there are plenty of "sporty" options available that aren't a foot tall. Also as far as I know it's still a FWD car haha. I think a custom retrofit would look 1000x better than ebay halos too personally.

Lol. It's still FWD...that hasn't changed. The stock spoiler is too low for my taste and doesn't fit the rest of the car. It's like looking at a well developed, muscular bodybuilder with one body part that doesn't match up to the rest of the body. Modified aftermarket fenders, Skyline body kit, bigger stronger looking wheels, bangin sound system, slap you in the face interior, killer paint, and a b**** spoiler. The b**** spoiler doesn't fit in. There are so many good things we can do to our cars other than leave them looking just like they did when they were spit off the assembly line.

Everything you just said made sense, except you're comparing your choice to the OEM spoiler. There are other aftermarket spoilers that would look much better, but it won't be too late to change it up later on I guess.

I get where you're coming from, but I think you're trying too hard to fight where you're coming from. And that's a stock Accord. I respect you for being passionate about your vehicle, and am not trying to badger you into agreeing with my opinions at all, but I think it's a bit desperate to keep trying to compare an Accord to a bodybuilder or a sports car or whatever other analogy you want to use lol.

Different parts look good on different vehicles, and IMO you're spending a lot of money to try and pretend you are driving a different vehicle. If you're going to mod an accord, which we are obviously all for, you should consider that some things are just going to look bad/tacky/ricey. Seems like the mods you are doing may have been better suited to a different vehicle.

I think when final pics are posted, you'll think differently and if you don't, it really doesn't matter. I actually love this body style Accord so I'm not making it look like something different at all...just not like every other Acc on the street. It just aint me. No matter what anyone does in any matter, it's impossible to please everybody else and frankly, I don't know why anyone would want to! I'm taking your opinions for what they are, YOUR opinions...and as such I respect them, but they have no bearing at all in the matters concerning my car. They have bearing in reference to your car though so again, I'd love to see how yours turns out. It would clearly be different than mine, but nice in its own way. Thanks for following!

any updates?

I'll have some coming up next week! All of the bodywork will be done then, after which it'll go back to the mechanic and get an upgraded radiator, complete aftermarket ignition, and final tuning.

I'm in for finished pics

And here are the latest pics. The beast is still at the bodyshop, but all body work should be done by the end of next week.

Re: 1BAD6's Skyline Gray Paint and Bodywork Thread!!

car's looking good man. i know you've mentioned doing it but retrofitting oem headlights will look so much better and give you light output you'd be a lot happier with. sense you've put so much time and money into this car to make the aftermarket parts fit perfectly, i think the retrofit would be more fitting for this car.

congrats for it almost getting complete! how long has it been sense you drove it?
