Alright, so I've decided to get a CAI for better throttle response for the car and a better tone for the car.

I was searching for AEM V2 intakes, but damn 320+ for a pipe + filter is not worth it. People say it's basically paying for the name of the Intake.

I found some eBay intake w/ C.A.R.B legal stickers on it for $55. I was just planning to get the pipe + a new K&N filter.

Or should I just skip all that and just keep my stock resonator box and switch out my filter for a K&N. I don't know if it will help throttle response, but I'm pretty sure it's alot better than my stock filter at the moment.

So question for you guys out there, is there any difference between the AEM vs Ebay that actually went to eBay to AEM or Injen?

Anything different, or does it feel exactly the same as another?

People say it's just a pipe that are bend in different angels, it's the filter that really matters.

For performance wise, i'm pretty sure the performance won't even change for our F23A engines.

AEM V2 has a deeper tone compared to the eBay?

I'm pretty sure i'm trying to avoid spending $300+ for an intake unless someone here sells me one for cheap, so i'm stuck with a eBay or my OEM and swapping out the filters.

EDIT: Oh and this is for a 4 cyl F23A1

EDIT AGAIN: I chose the DIY cold air intake. Sounds way better than what I expected, cheaper than the other 2 choices aswell. Only took 1 hr 30 min by myself. If someone ask the question I did, I'd say go with the DIY, you'll not be disappointed.

CAI is for noise, period. But the V2 sounds great with the dual diameter piping, which an Ebay one won't have I don't think. I paid $279 for mine a few years ago, I loved it. They go up for sale now and then, I think BPAccord has one...

I went from a SRI, to this.
I am much happier with the DIY method. Just my 2 cents though.

The V2 does look alot better, but it's hard to find people selling theirs for the 4cyl and aren't so expensive.

I've checked eBay, amazon, and local craigslist but never any luck with a CARB legal intake that fits the price range.

Just curious, when you still had your 3.0, did you install an intake or did you just have your stock resonator box?

you can just remove your stock resonator box on the bottom so it would be like a cai/short ram to save some money. If you do like it just buy a K&n filter for it. If you don't like it you can buy a CAI or SRI. If you are going to get an aftermarket intake be-sure to get one with a legit CARB sticker... CA is very strict on it. Just incase you get pulled over and the cop ask for you to open up your hood, of couse you can say no... but he will probably just tack on another thing to your ticket.

I was looking at that a few months back aswell. Any noticeable differences? I was planning to do this and just swap out the filter.

I did the method of just taking out the resonator, leaving the empty space there, and just cutting the bottom of my stock air box to make the hole for the air flow a lot better.
As for any noticeable differences, not much, but it's there. It has a little more throttle response at low rpms. I don't have to floor it from a stop sign like i had to with my SRI. :lawl:
You have to keep in mind though, any sort of air flow mods like this aren't going to give too much pertaining to "performance". It is just whether or not you want a little more power in the low rpms (which i feel like i got with the DIY method), or if you want more power in the high rpms, which i feel the SRI did a little bit better. I have no experience with real cold air intakes though, due to the fact that I am scared to death to hydrolock my engine.

I like the DIY though, mainly because the rubber/plastic material used for the whole thing is a lot better at keeping heat away from the air.
And you also keep that clean oem look under the hood. ;)

Ehh, no need to spend triple digits on an intake, tbh.

I have OEM intake + K&N filter and removed the silencer box.

That's the way to go if you want to save money, and you still get the sound (though not as pronounced as an SRI/CAI) and "throttle response."

Hah, CA does have some of the *****est cop. But since my car is basically stock, there's no need to hassle an old lady's car lol. But at every end of the month, i'm always seeing a few integras/civics getting pulled over for who knows what reason.

Thanks i'll look onto that.
