Hey guys, I just joined the site and was wondering if you could help me out. Im 16 years of age and am finally getting to the point where i can customize my car. I was looking at putting 18x8 +40 rims with either 215/40/18 or 225/40/17 tires. My car is stock for the most part. Would the tires fit without much modification? And do you think they would stick out too far?

Also, would there be a better alternative? Thanks!

I'm assuming you don't have aftermarket suspension considering you are just barely starting to modify your car. With that, there's no need to roll your fenders right now unless you lower your car at least 2"+ or so with those wheel specs you listed.

Go with 215/40.

Can you even shove 17" diameter tires on 18" wheels?

oops, didnt catch that. I meant 225/40/18.

As for the modification, yes the car is pretty much stock, sadly. I do plan to lower the car in the future, but no more than 2". Thanks for the quick response!

Okay, so if I drop it 2" first, then put the new wheels on, would it fit? Or would i most likely have to roll the fenders and other things of the sort?
