Re: ★ Russianred's CD5 Project ★

Thanks Matt, yeah it was a good deal, but I did have to do a lot of little repairs, and a few larger ones. Currently working on the rear quarter rust, not going to be fun. I'll post the result when I'm done. I'll detail and clean the whole car for new photos after.

Maybe you should pick up that JDM front clip that's for sale as well.

Would be cool haha, except if I had $1400 to spend on anything.. it would be going towards the boosted build ;).

Any thoughts of throwing an H22 in there?

Yeah.. just thoughts haha. I'll run this engine to the ground first as a daily driver, then actualize an upgraded swap, whatever it may be.

I am almost done fixing the rust.. Here is the progress so far.

I ground everything down to bare metal, applied Rust-o-leum Rust Reformer to all the exposed areas, then used some short self-tapping screws to cover the open areas with galvanized mesh. After this I used Aluminum Body Filler to cover the areas. Next step is to sand down the rough spots afterwards, treat with Rust-o-leum primer, and seal everything with Truck-bed-liner up to the edges of the fender-wells.

TO BE CONTINUED :D

By the way Joey - I ended up JB Welding the broken ballast together then sealing it completely with silicone. Everything works perfectly now, I have already installed the HIDs :D!
