Re: vehicle 1-pin connector

i'm looking to connect my fog light harness's 1-pin connector to the vehicle 1-pin

this is what the fog's harness 1-pin connector looks like
BBcurve053.jpg

on my instructional manual, it said to locate the 1-pin which i could find under the intake pipe
and this is what i found

i'm pretty sure that it's not going to fit, unless there's a cover on it that i didn't notice?
is this the 1-pin that i'm looking for in terms of connecting my fog lights to my vehicle? and my harness is the incorrect one?

yes, but in the instructions, it said that i could find the vehicle 1-pin under the intake pipe on the driver side, in which ours is located on the passenger side. i did find the vehicle 1-pin connector under the intake pipe right behind the battery underneath the intake pipe but it doesn't match, i'm starting to believe that i have the incorrect harness however i am hoping that i just found the wrong 1-pin

Re: vehicle 1-pin connector

Did you pull the cover off of that connector to see if it would fit?

Did you look at the OEM instructions on handa to see where the 1 pin connector is, or are you looking at the aftermarket instructions? I'd trust the OEM ones for locating the 1 pin connector.

I could take the time and look it up, but give it a try.

weird buzz noise

so i installed the fog lights, took me some time. i made sure i plugged everything in where they are supposed to be, nice and snug. i'm pretty sure i used the right ground bolts.

however, when i went to turn them on...they didn't.
not only did they NOT turn on, they make a weird noise

and now, whenever i have anything other than the lowbeams on (high beams, parking lights) it makes a buzzing sound. is it supposed to do that?

here is the sound i recorded:

any info would be great

btw, it's a 2002 accord coupe 4cyl, if that means anything

Re: weird buzz noise

might want to include how you did the wiring....where you are getting power from....where you are grounding to...etc...

Re: weird buzz noise

^ yeah, its kind of hard to tell unless we know what the exact path you followed was.

Do you have them running off your parking lights?

I know when I wired mine I had to have them linked to something because they weren't turning on if they were a stand alone system from everything else. I think its something Honda had included to make sure you couldn't have your fogs on at the same time you had other lights on, or perhaps to prevent people from driving around with lows, highs, and fogs at the same time and like blinding people.

Re: weird buzz noise

i followed all the steps in the instructions as it said. i'm not going to lie, i don't know what wire works for what and where, i just do as it was telling me to do. i do not know where the power is coming from or what i linked the fogs light to (parking light, high beams, low beams, etc)

Re: weird buzz noise

Good photo documentation there.
You might want to clean up the ground terminal on the battery and make sure current can get thru. (and do the +ve terminal while you are at it). Do any of the terminals get warm when you have the lights on?

It was my downfall with a non-starting issue and I didn't have as much copper sulphate on the terminals that I see on this one. A thick solution of Baking soda and water will neutralize the corrosion. Then use an oil or grease or something to slow it down once it's clean.

I have the base radio so it doesn't need codes - something you may need if you have a better one and disconnect to do cleaning.

Re: weird buzz noise

thank you.
i brought my car to my friend's dad, who's a mechanic at Midas, and he said that all the wiring looks good and that he thinks it's probably the grounding too. so i'm going to work on that, and then hopefully it works. thanks for the input
